Animal Encounters, Inc. is very fortunate to have such a wonderful and talented staff of qualified Trainers, Animal Care Specialists, Veterinary Technicians, and Veterinarians.

Qualifications needed to be an Animal Encounters, Inc. ANIMAL CARE SPECIALIST:
Degree or certificate of completion from Moorpark College's Exotic Animal Training and Management program or a minimum of 2 years paid experience with a licensed facility in addition to a degree in other animal behavior related studies.

Qualifications needed to be an Animal Encounters, Inc. TRAINER:
Degree or certificate of completion from Moorpark College's Exotic Animal Training and Management program or a minimum of 3 years paid experience with a licensed facility in addition to a degree in other animal behavior related studies.

Qualifications needed to be an Animal Encounters, Inc. VETERINARY TECHNICIAN:
Minimum of five years experience in a veterinary clinic as a technician, to include a minimum of one year in of emergency veterinary care or be a licensed RVT with the state of California.

Vaccination Requirement:
Hepatits A, Hepatits B, TB Test (negative) within 30 days of employment, Pre Exposure Rabies
Vaccinations must be current prior to first day of employment.

 In the Los Angeles area there are two wonderful schools that can help prepare you for the animal field. For those of you interested in becoming an animal trainer: Moorpark College's Exotic Animal Training and Management Program. For those of you interested in becoming a veterinary technician: Los Angeles Pierce College Veterinary Technology  & Pre Veterinary Program. 


Apprentice & Internship Program
Apprentice & Internship Program
Animal Encounters is proud to offer an Apprentice and Internship program for students persuing their degree, or for graduates to fulfill apprentice requirements. Apprentice and Intern positions are not paid positions.
We are proud to be working with the students from the following programs:

Moorpark College's
Exotic Animal Training and Management Program
Projects Class offered to second year students.
One or two week projects are available.

Pierce College's
Pre Veterinary & RVT Programs
Ag181 Class offered to students looking for field experience.
Semester long commitment required.

Dog Training Apprentice Program
Must be a graduate of a two year animal training program 
or
currently enrolled in Pre Veterinary, RVT or EATM courses.
Six week session commitment required.
or
Hold a degree in psychology and/or zoology.

Vaccination Requirement:

Apprentice & Internship Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
Apprentice and Inter positions are in three months in duration.
Apprentices and Interns that do well are given priority to the following session.

Application Deadline: December 15th for January-March Session
Application Deadline: March 15th for April - June Session
Application Deadline: June 15th for July-September Session
Application Deadline: September 15th for October-December Session
